About the A2 Audio Technician Role
An A2 Audio Technician supports the lead audio engineer (A1) during live events. They handle microphone placement, cable runs, patching, RF coordination, and stage audio — making sure every mic is hot and every signal path is clean. A2s are essential on any show with more than a few microphones.
What You'll Do
- •Set up and strike all audio equipment and cabling
- •Place and manage wired and wireless microphones
- •Patch audio signals and maintain signal flow documentation
- •Monitor and coordinate RF frequencies for wireless systems
- •Manage intercom and IEM (in-ear monitor) systems
